Medical Receptionist

This position is part-time, 16-25 hours/week.

Applicants must be able to work Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am to 7 pm and occasionally Friday from 7 am to 4 pm.

Medical Receptionist duties:

  • Serve patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
  • Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone. Also answering or referring to an inquiry.
  • Optimizes patients’ satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Keeps patient appointments on schedule by notifying provider of patient’s arrival, reviewing service delivery compared to schedule, and reminding providers of service delays.
  • Ensures availability of treatment information by filing and retrieving patient records.
  • Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information.
  • Obtains revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, and filing, collecting, and expediting third-party claims.
  • Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Maintains operations by following policies and procedures and reporting needed changes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Basic understanding of healthcare insurance, workers’ compensation, and Medicare. Also helpful with Authorization for Insurance companies
  • Maintain the copies for patient forms, folders, and general tasks as recommended.

  • Previous experience with WebPT, if possible (but not required)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
